Matrix
The film titled, ‘The Matrix,’ both written and directed by the Warchowski Brothers was a successful movie because of its evident visual effects, distinct usage of idioms, intent of the dialect and audible effects.
The visibly observable effects used in this film aided in its popular rate of success. The Matrix had numerous examples of revolutionary special effects, characteristic body language, camera angles, cinematography, cutaway, fading in and out and establishing shots all intended purposefully. An example of special effect usage is the wirework in the wall, window and the leap when Trinity escapes the agents in the city. The body language is directly related to the actor’s abilities, just as an example, the unmistakable evidence of Trinity’s attraction to Neo. The camera angles are used effectively to show a character’s importance or emotions. For example, when Morpheus offers Neo the pills in Hotel Lafayette the camera is noticeably below positioned upwards. This helps to show Morpheus’s image of power. All throughout the movie the cinematographer does an excellent job. For instance, in the fight scenes the camera moves around in a circular motion showing all of Neo’s angles.
