    OUTLINE Thesis Statement: Marvell uses three tactics in the three stanzas to convince his mistress to make love to him immediately. I. In the first stanza, the man tires to smooth talk the women. A. The man talks about having all the time in the world to spend together. B. The man talks about that he will love and praise her during this time before receiving any kind of sexual intercourse. II. The next stanza, the sweet mood of the poem being to change when it stars with the word “but.” A. The poem has changed from a romantic mood towards a sexual mood. B. The man has changed is mindset from loving her forever to lets just jump in the hay. III. The third stanza finished the transition by beginning with the word “now.” A. He goes from loving her forever to saying no time is left and they shall make love promptly. B. Their love might not last forever because they are going to get old and makes blunt that he wants sex now.
