Political Assassination
Political assassinations have occurred a number of times throughout the course of history. Assassination itself has a great impact in society and in the out come of things. Assassinations usually occur when people dislike the president or when other surrounding nations have problems with the president.
Abraham Lincoln was assassinated while attending a special performance comedy name "Our American Cousin". He was in Ford's Theater with his wife Mary Todd Lincoln when it all happened. An officer named Major Henry R. Rathbone and his fiancée also accompanied him. Then an actor John Wilkes Booth got inside the presidential box and assassinated Lincoln. Booth was racist and a Southern sympathizer, and because Lincoln wanted toabolish slavery, he killed him.
Rathbone forced Lincoln's assassin against the railing even though Rathbone had been slashed. However Booth leapt out of the balcony breaking a leg ad rode a horse off into the night but was later captured. President Lincoln did not
