Band of Brothers
This book chronicles the journeys of E Company of the 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne throughout World War II. Many of the men were 20 or younger and signed up for the paratrooper division for the $50 monthly bonus. They had no idea what they were getting into. They were shipped out to Camp Toccoa, Georgia for one of the worst experiences of their lives. They were under the control of Robert Sobel. He took them on almost daily marches of about 21 miles. He then made the men go through inhumane amounts of training. The men hated him for it, but he was the reason they became such a great company.
