Jacksonian Democracy
By definition the word democracy deals with a form of government where the majority rules, a government in which the ultimate power lies in the masses. Between 1820 and 1840 Jackson’s economic policies and the events that coincided with the great migration westward aided this change in power from the rich to the masses.
