Napster

    NAPSTER Napster was developed in June of 1999, it was said to be the wave of the future. But really it was just a law suit waiting to happen. The R.I.A.A. is suing Napster claiming their website and fanning program are facilitating the theft of what the artist say is their intellectual property. But yet the A.H.R.A. does not protect copywriting done on computers. Napster argues that non-commercial recording is personal even if it is done simultaneously by thousands of users a day. But Napster must convince the courts that the trading was non-commercial. My opinion is that Napster should stay open for the following reasons, because CD sales increased, the law, and the deals that Napster has proposed to the major record labels and independent labels.
