Kurt Cobain

    Kurt On February 20, 1967, Donald and Wendy Cobain gave birth to an American Icon. Kurt Cobain grew up in Aberdeen, Washington, right outside of Seattle. (Halperin 4). Kurt would change the entire world with the Seattle grunge movement (Halperin 4). Music and drugs were the life, and Kurt lived it to the fullest. At 8:40 am, on April 8, 1994, Kurt was found dead by a worker from a security firm (Halperin 3). The man many called the “the voice of a generation”, was dead at the age of 27. Many people had such a fascination with Kurt that they went into morning when they learned of his death (Halperin 134). Some even followed in his footsteps, with at least 68 teens taking their lives in copycat cases (Halperin 134). Police quickly declared Kurt’s death was a suicide; however, many disagree. Tom Grant is one who strongly disagrees with the police (Halperin 109). Tom is a private investigator who previously worked for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Courtney Love, Kurt’s wife, hired Tom because she said she hadn’t heard form him since he left rehab in Marina Del Rey, California (Halperin 110).
