Subway’s Short History
It was the summer of ’65 when Fred DeLuca and Dr. Peter Buck opened the first Subway restaurant in the town of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Over the last decades that ones restaurant has grown into an international phenomenon. Fred Deluca was 17 years old and needed money for college tuition. When he asked family friend Dr. Peter Buck for advice, he hoped that Pete might offer tuition loan. Pete’s unexpected guidance was, “You should open a submarine sandwich shop”. That was the start for young entrepreneur DeLuca. They keep their brand image fresh. That was including appearance of their restaurants.
