Wto
The World Trade Organization, or WTO, deals with the rules of trade between
nations. The goals of the WTO are to help producers of goods and services, importers
and exporters conduct their businesses. “We ought to have a seat at the table so we can
protect the interests of workers.” says Chuck Collins, Co.-director of United For A Fair
Economy www.cnn.com. The WTO is good and has good goals but needs to have allow
common people to have a say on the way it is run. Some people think the only way the
WTO will listen to them is to protest when they gather to discuss their future agenda.
The WTO needs to try and change the work conditions in third world countries
that do not have the benefits of other countries. There are more than 250 million children
working around the world because of poverty stricken families that have no other choice
but to have their children work, www.cnn.com, Lefevre. This causes them to receive no
education and live their life in poverty. With any new trade agreement made there should
be a provision, to prohibit the use of child labor and to manufacture products with child
labor. This could help in the reduction of child labor in other countries. If the countries
would not allow
