Preparation For College
Thousands of students across the United States of all ages are involved in raising livestock for agricultural projects. The workload received from one of these projects is tremendous, not always fun, but definitely beneficial. In fact, each student spends hours every day with their animals to work towards their supreme goal in life, to attend college and become successful. After all, raising a livestock project such as lambs is a complete preparation for attending college.
One of the most exciting aspects of attending college in the eyes of a teenager is that they are finally on their own. Responsibility must quickly be plastered onto this unskilled individual. At first, this may be a difficult task, but students who raised a livestock project are already accustomed. Every day in the lamb pen, I must make sure my lambs are fed twice a day on schedule, exercised, maintaining a healthy diet, and trained to show correctly. In college, students must complete each assignment on time, attend every class, make certain that they pay for their classes on time, and not party so hard that they can’t wake up the next day for the early eight o’clock class.
