David Leslie, in his article “Multiculturalism and the Hyphenated Canadian”, argues that, even though Canadians characterized diversity as a “melting pot” of North American culture, and most of us feel we are treated equally and fairly, some minor groups are still named “hyphenated Canadians.” Canada is a multicultural country with many hyphenated Canadians: Asian-Canadians, Irish-Canadians, and other-Canadians.
