Known to millions of sports fans as unarguably one of the greatest not only basketball players but also as one of the greatest athletes to play any professional sport. Michael Jordan won six NBA championships with the Chicago bulls (1991-1993, 1996-1998). His pure dominance of the game is unequaled to any other athlete to ever play the game.
Born in 1963 in Brooklyn, New York, Jordan was the forth child to his parents James and Deloris Jordan. Moving to Wilmington, North Carolina, early in Jordan’s life his parent’s seeked a better lifestyle for their five children. Jordan went to Laney high school where he was cut from the varsity basketball team his sophomore year before making the squad his junior year. The following summer he attended a five-star basketball camp where he met Coach Dean Smith of UNC who started recruiting Jordan for college. Jordan signed a letter of intent his senior year in November to attend the University of North Carolina.
At UNC Jordan played for three years. During his freshman year he was only the forth freshman starter to ever start under coach Dean Smith. His freshman year Jordan’s team, the Tarheels, won the NCAA men’s national championship against the George
