Killer Cults
What is a Killer Cult?
There exists in our society various religions that have been with us for
years. Christianity and Buddhism are examples of this. We have all learned to
accept these religions and others. We even learn to tolerate the ones that
oppose our own beliefs. Yet, the same acceptance is not extended to newer
religions and with outlandish beliefs. The majority of us snicker at and do
not take these newfound religions seriously. We call these groups 'killer
cults.'
A cult is a system of religious rites and observances. Moreover, it is a
zealous devotion to a person, ideal or thing. There exist cults that keep to
themselves, and give its members a sense of belonging and hope that
conventional religions cannot seem to give these individuals. Unfortunately,
there also exist hostile cults; they are referred to as Killer Cults.
