Volunteering to Graduate
Martin Luther King Jr. once said in a letter written from Birmingham Jail, "Whatever affects one directly, affects us all indirectly." For instance, think about smoking a cigarette. by smoking just one cigarette is proving King's point. One cigarette can worsen the health of the person smoking it, yet it can also worsen the health of the people around that are inhaling the second hand smoke. Many people who choose to smoke, also opt to throw their unwanted filters outside on the ground. These people are one of the many causes of why so many high schools are requiring their graduating seniors to complete a certain amount of volunteer work before they can acquire their diploma.
