Free To Speak
The debate of censorship and freedom of expression is a never-ending battle in
which no single side stands victorious. There is so much going on in America today
that it’s easy for some and yet difficult for others to label the actions and materials
put out by other Americans as offensive or non-offensive. People who are behind
censorship claim that by banning or blocking this dangerous content, they are
making America a better place, but in doing so they are demeaning what this
country was built on, freedom. American citizens are constructed around the ideas
of praying to whom they want, believing in what they want, and even having the
opportunities to go after what they want in their lives. But, there are some who
wish to take these opportunities away. Some who feel their doing their “patriotic”
duty as an American citizen by eliminating the most important thing to the people
of America, and that’s freedom. Although the individuals depicted in the articles
