Grandmother’s Moment of Grace in “A Good Man is Hard to Find
I n “A Good Man is Hard to Find,” a short story by Flannery O’Connor we see a moment of grace in a grandmother’s eyes of this cruel some tale. It is a grotesque story about a grandmother trying to convince her son to go to Tennessee instead of a vacation to Florida. Some ironic moments in the story are when the grandmother reads the news report to her son about the loose killer that called himself the “Missfit,” in an effort to convince him to change his vacation plans.
We are going to explored grandmother’s attitude towards people, and religion, and life in general. She is always trying to find a good man or person. Everywhere that she looks finding “a good man” since an impossible task. Unable to change her son’s mind, she accept this trip even thou she believes going to Tennessee would have been more fun. They will encounter and meet some new people in there way to Florida; she will also face her biggest challenge and her moment of grace.
