    John Adams It is an extraordinary thing to have revolutionary ideas at a time when the government strictly limited the freedoms of it’s citizens. It is another feat all together to be able to fearlessly express these ideas when your life is at risk. John Adams was able to do this incredible action repeatedly throughout his lifetime. He proved countless times that he was an irreplaceable leader in the quest for American independence from England. It was Adams’ unique ability to think independently and express his ideas with honesty and courage that distinguishes him as one of America’s greatest leaders and a deserving candidate for the Philadelphia Liberty Medal. John Adams was an independent thinker who didn’t conform to British thought. When the Stamp Act was introduced, colonists were enraged , but still many stood loyal to Britain while their “unalienable rights” were slowly taken away.
