    In the film Easy Rider we see two men, Wyatt and Billy search for freedom and happiness as they travel from Los Angles to New Orleans for the Mardi Gras celebration. The men are viewed and treated differently as they move eastward across the country. Throughout the movie Wyatt and Billy encounter many different types of people who have an impact on them. After finally reaching the big easy and celebrating Mardi Gras Wyatt turns to Bill and says, “We blew it.” This could mean many different things but I believe it means that both men forgot what they were looking for. Wyatt and Billy are different people in the eyes of society. They do not conform to rules and regulations like most citizens and because of this they are sometimes looked down upon. Both men do not want to live in a city where they will be forced to live their lives according to what other people tell them to do; this is the major reason why these men travel across the country.
