Great Expectations
The differences in the characters portray their time period very well in both texts. In the 1800’s the upper class didn’t usually have to work hard for their money, however, today nothing comes for free; we have to work to be wealthy. The different settings in the two texts shows the effect that time has had on our views of where the rich should live and where the poor should live. The difference in time also effects how the upper class interacts with the lower class. These are some ways the change in time have affected the story.
