Persuasive Essay
Ever After gives the audience the first impression that the movie retells Cinderella’s story. However, when you start to watch it, the audience will realize Ever After doesn’t adapt the traditional Cinderella’s story effectively. It is just a modern update to the famous story that satisfies the current feminist fashion because of the independent main character, Danielle. It is easy for the audience to know Danielle is quite different from traditional Cinderella when she is just a kid, when she grows up and when she faces the difficulties.
Although there are less than ten minutes talking about Danielle’s childhood, it is enough to let the audience know she is a different girl from other noblemen’s children in that century. She is a not a docile girl playing and fighting with neighbor’s boy all the time. She is very close to her father like a friend instead of a daughter. All of the servants like this bright and loving child deeply. In addition, she is a special girl who reads Utopia in her leisure time and has her own views of her life. For all these different education and training from her father, Danielle becomes a modern and independent lady.
