kulam: spells
At first glance, kulam would appear to be one of the most unreliable treatments to illnesses. First of all, it is almost purely based on superstitions, on beliefs that illnesses are actually caused by spells and evil spirits. Living at a period of time when scientific dogma governs just about everything, such superstitious thinking is almost unacceptable. It has been a long time already since mankind separated itself from a mythological world picture and started to think more rationally. Man no longer sought explanations from supernatural forces, and instead opted to use the tools of logic in explaining things. In kulam, however, man is brought back to ancient thinking where science is ignored and superstitious thinking is the norm.
