Modern TV
The show I choose to watch and analyze was a program called VH1 Storytellers. It is a show where a famous musician or rock star plays songs and explains the meanings behind their music. I choose to analyze this show because I don’t have a vcr that will record and this was the only show that I have on tape from tv.
Close-ups – There were a lot of close-ups through out the whole show. The majority of which seemed to focus in on the singers face when he would be really getting into the music. There were also many close-ups of the guitars that he was playing. The camera would really zoom in so you could just see his hand and the guitars sound holes covered by strings.
Colors – Since this was taped in a concert type format, the color was not tampered with at all. It was a dark setting with different colored lights that would change to correlate with the mood of the song. For example when an angry song was being sung the lights would go to red, or when a sad song, blue lights would glow.
