Clive Staples Lewis
Clive Staples Lewis or better known as C.S Lewis was brought up in a normal Christian home but early events in his life effected his religious consciousness in good and bad ways like while enrolled at Cherbourg house the clergymen would beat him with a rod to convince him to believe in Christianity, consequently this made him disbelieve in it. Also “The death of both his parents and his brother may have also contributed to his disillusionment with Christianity” (qtd in Contemporary Authors 8). The people liked his style of writing and they like the message he sent with his stories but he never thought of himself as different than anyone else he just loved to write for the people and as Jonathan D. Evans pointed out in “Lewis styled himself as a common man addressing concerns faced by all” ( qtd in Clive Lewis).
Clive Staples Lewis was born on November 29, 1898 in Belfast, Ireland to Florence a housewife and Augusta Hamilton Lewis a solicitor. His mother When he was 10 his mother, father and brother died in the same year. Lewis was sent to a health resort in Malvern, England because of lung problems and was enrolled as a student at Cherbourg House where he became disillusioned with Christianity probably because the clergy
