Hamlet the Book vs the Movie

    When Shakespeare originally wrote Hamlet he probably would never have guessed that his story that was going to be a movie with Mel Gibson playing the lead role. He never would have imagined that his story would be viewed in a little box by millions of people. He would also never have never thought that classes would have to read his story other wise he might not have written it. In the Zeffirelli interpretation of Hamlet, there are some many similarities to the book and a few differences. In the movie Zeffirelli decided that since he felt that in the book there was a stronger relationship between Gertrude and Hamlet then Shakespeare had let up, he adds in a scene where Hamlet shares an intimate kiss with his mother. In fact I think that the whole character of Gertrude is different in the movie then it was in the book. I believe that Gertrude in the movie is a lot more compas
