Stardust The story is set in the sleepy English countryside several decades before Queen Victoria was crowned; there is a town that has stood on a side of granite for six hundred years. To the east stands a high stone wall, for which the village is named. In the town of “Wall”, Tristran Thorn has his heart broken by the very beautiful Victoria Forester. One crisp October night, as they watch, a star falls from the sky, and Victoria promises to marry Tristran if he’ll retrieve that star and bring it back to her. The promise alone , starts the adventure of Tristran’s life. Stardust is a fable, but as it starts it begins to tell the tale of Tristran’s father, Duston Thorn and the events of his life in the town of wall in which he lives in. Wall is a whole night’s drive from London. The town named for a rock barrier on its eastern side, with a narrow break in it; there is a shade of grass or meadow, a stream and the forest. Along the top mount of the barrier of wall there are two townsmen who stand guard. Sometimes Duston is on watch as he slaves with his boredom with the town and people.
