“A Raisin in the Sun”

Lorraine Hansberry grew up in Chicago, and in “A Raisin in the Sun” she portrayed a family trying to find their place in a city where their race seems to be the biggest reason that they could not achieve some since of stability. Though there are many contrasts between how Hansberry grew up, and how the Younger’s lived it is in a way an emulation of events in her “Younger” days which is the name of the family in her story. When Hansberry was young she grew up in a middle class very well to do family but she had a great admiration for the struggles that people really like the Younger’s to endure on a day to day basis. This is what admiration is what caused her to write this play. In this paper the life of Lorraine Hansberry will be told to show how her experiences mostly contrasted the family in “A Raisin in the Sun” but she did share some of the experiences including moving into an all white neighborhood when it was not socially
