A comparison between the life of Lorraine Hansberry and her Play “A Raisin in the Sun” What is it that caused Lorraine Hansberry to portray a family like the Younger’s in “ A Raisin in the Sun”? Lorraine Hansberry grew up in Chicago, and in “A Raisin in the Sun” she portrayed a family trying to find their place in a city where their race seems to be the biggest reason that they could not achieve some since of stability.
