This paper attempts to explain some philosophical reasons behind the possibility or lack thereof about the realization of true artificial intelligence.
A.I.?
It is my intention to state my reasons as to why I do not believe there is ever the possibility of creating true artificial intelligence. In order to have conscienceness, I state that a creature must be able to be aware of its environment, and it must be able to give responses to changes in its environment. Those responses must also be a creature’s own responses, based on its experiences throughout its life, not programmed responses based on a programmer’s written instructions. These programs cannot be changed by the machine itself, they must be rewritten by a programmer in order to change. A human on the other hand can go beyond its own program, so to speak. An objection to this claim is that a human is itself programmed by the stimuli it has undergone throughout its life. But it is possible for a human to completely loose itself from what it has learned (or what some people consider to be programming). We know that a person can b
