    Welcome to the Desert of the Real Artificial intelligence, or AI, is the capability of a machine to imitate intelligent human behavior. This is something that has most recently been put into computer games because of the growing number of people playing games. The skills of the players are also increasing, so since the players are getting better the computer has to be smarter to give the player a challenge. The progression of AI in games can be seen most clearly in Pong, Contra, and the newest game to hit the market, Metal Gear Solid 2. Pong is one of the first games ever created and even though it was basic, it kept people in a trance, playing it for hours. Pong is a very basic game where there are two paddles on either side of the screen and a ball in the middle. The players are trying to get the ball past each other. You can play two players or against the computer. There are different computer AI levels, but the computer still only follows the ball. It is
