Edinburgh
Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. This city is not only steeped in history, but is a sightseeing paradise. : Edinburgh stimulates the mind as well as the eye. It is a city where the past exists harmoniously with the present. Edinburgh is also a well endowed city, in the sense that there really is a great deal to see and to do. Edinburgh is easily accessible by train, car, plane, and boat(*************).
Although the city is known for its beautiful scenery, historic castle, rolling hills, and incredible architecture, many visitors overlook the fact that Edinburgh is also a busy, thriving, modern community.
Economy
Helping to drive this modern community in Edinburgh is the manufacturing sector. Though manufacturing has declined in size in recent years, it remains important. The manufacturing sector in Edinburgh is dominated by three industrial groups. These groups are electrical and electronics engineering; paper, printing and publishing; and food and drink(************). These three account for more than 75 per cent of all manufacturing employment.
