The White Mans Burden
In the mid-1800s 5 European countries, namely France, Great Britain, Germany, Portugal, and Belgium decided that their empires need to be larger. It began when the king of Belgium decided that he wanted a bit of land in the middle of Africa called “the Congo”. This simple act started what would soon be known as “The Scramble for Africa”.
Now there were many reasons why the Europeans felt they needed to start going inland in Africa. One of those reasons
