The Debate Over Homosexual Marriage The debate over homosexual marriage is a hot item right now, so I thought for my first political entry that I would throw my two cents worth of opinion into the ring. Ok, maybe a nickels worth. I am against homosexual marriage, civil partnerships, and anything that resembles marriage between two people of the same sex. To me, marriage will ALWAYS be a union between a man and a women, and they will live together as one entity til death. Anything other than that is in my mind an extreme perversion of such a beautiful gift given by God. Having said that, I do believe that homosexuals have a valid argument for marriage. To understand why I believe that, I must open up another issue that I feel strong about; Divorce and re-marriage. I think that divorce has it's place in our society. If a spouse is being physically and/or emotionally abused and the abuser refuses to stop, I believe that a divorce should take place, especially if there are children involved. If a spouse is unfaithfuly, and refuses to stop, then I would say that a divorce would be appropriate, but in all cases I believe it should be the ABSOLUTE LAST RESORT.
