ZigZag Street
Drama is a reflection of society based upon the human context of roles, relationships and situations. Every form of dramatic activity contains certain elements that are crucial to all drama. These elements are the building blocks of each drama, which gives it its own shape and form. Place can alter the tensions and moods of the performance, Role is central to the dramatic action and Tension is the main driving force.
Elements of the play such as movement, time, place, mood and language are established and controlled to create tension and focus.
Zigzag Street exhibits six weeks in the life of Richard Derrington, a realistic and sympathetic character who has recently been dumped from a serious relationship and, while battling depression, his cat Greg and his mother’s expectation of renovating his inherited property, Richard’s life goes from bad to worse. Until a freak accident with a shoe brings hope to Richard’s chaotic life.
