Who Is God And What Does He Do?
Psychology is an experimental science that has been progressing smoothly for about two hundred years. But even before that, philosophers such as Plato and Aristotle were wondering how the gods had affects on the people. All people have thoughts about higher beings, such as God. God is a religious figure that Christians, Jews, Muslims, and Orthodox people learn to respect and worship. But has anyone ever questioned on how we became to understand this concept of God?
God is considered to be the most powerful being that “is always and always will be.” But some psychologists see this as a very different way than the religious people do. According to the psychologists in this article, God is something that we create in our heads, which can be unlearned if taught a certain way when we were younger. This argument was going on over a century ago with William James, who said that this topic should receive “Scant empirical attention.”
