John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born in Brookline Massachusetts on May 29, 1917. His father was Joseph Patrick Kennedy Sr. and his mother was Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy. He was the second oldest out of a family of nine. Joseph was the oldest of the sons and it is said that he was the most preferred son for his father. His other brothers and sisters where, Rosemary, Kathleen, Eunice, Patricia, Robert, and Edward.
Much of Kennedy’s success is owed to his fathers’ ambition in politics and fortune. Joseph, his father, was Ambassador to Great Britain from 1937 to 1940 and a millionaire who was a chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission. His father was also a graduate from Harvard and had much success in business and politics. The famous Boston saloon owner married Rose Kennedy in 1940. When John Kennedy was born, the United States had just entered World War I, after the war was over, his father started investing on buying and selling movie companies. By 1957, he had a fortune of at least $200 million, saving aside ten million for each son’s education.
