Pay it Forward
Pay It Forward
The movement of Pay It Forward began about 20 years ago. To pay it forward means to do something for three other people that they can’t do for themselves. Then hopefully those three people will each help three more. This is how it is supposed to work. The book of Pay It forward came first. The motion picture of Pay It Forward came last. The movement followed the book. The author of the book is Catherine Ryan Hyde. About 20 years ago, she was driving in a rough area of downtown Los Angles. Suddenly, her car started smoking. As she was getting out she noticed two gentlemen running towards her with blankets. She had no idea her engine was on fire. The men quickly put out the fire. She thought to herself that these two men rushed over to save her life and possibly endangered their own. This gave Catherine the inspiration to write the book Pay It Forward.
We see the story through many characters’ eyes. I think Hyde does this because she wants us to see the challenge that each character goes through when paying it forward. I would have to say that Trevor seems most significant to me. I guess just because he is young and has such a eager mind. He seems very willing to help people. Mr. Simone
