University admission
I was born to a Korean family in the capital city of Seoul on May 28th, 1984. I was the second son and my father had always brought us up with the concept that ‘You cannot succeed in life without making an effort’. Every other week our family held a meeting so that we may have a close relationship and better communication with each other. Throughout my life I was able to understand and realize the compassionate love that my parents had for my brother and me.
When I was in elementary school, my brother and I would go to the U.S. army military base in Korea to learn English from a lieutenant we had met there. At first, I was just so curious and interested in the foreign language called, English. The lieutenant was very kind and sometimes he would tell us interesting stories about America. At that time I was still pretty young and un-experienced in life, but my older brother got invited to go to Kentucky with the lieutenant where he had lived for one month. There, my brother learned and experienced many aspects of the American culture and language during that short period of time. Through the stories that I have heard
