World War II’s impact On the Homefront
“Yesterday, December 7th, 1941, a date which will live in infamy-The United States was suddenly and deliberately attacked by the naval air forces of the Empire of Japan...I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, December 7, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Empire of Japan.”(1). These words set into motion more then just soldiers, planes, and battleships. They started what no other nation has the resources or determination to do. They fueled the machine that would bring us, as a county, out of the depression and into a secured position as world leaders.
From 1929 to 1941 the economy fell to an all time low. This time period is know as Great Depression. The American dream had
