Early radio Walter Kersting

    Kersting’s Radio When early radio started out in the early 1900’s, people were amazed at the fact that sound can travel through the air and be picked up by an apparatus. The radio used to be a balky looking box with exposed vacuum tubes and coils. Although it was still magical for people in the early 1900’s to hear sound get picked out of the air, the quality was horrible due to weak signals, the radio was unreliable, extremely expensive and the future for commercial applications seemed distant. Walter Kersting of Germany changed all that sooner than expected. Kersting created a radio that was reliable, modern looking and affordable. Kersting radio was so well built that even Adolf Hitler used it to his power for Nazi political broadcasts. To this day the basic radio still follows the look of Kersting’s.
