    “Money buys us everything except love, freedom, immortality, silence, and peace.” –Carl Sandburg, 1952 How could she resist the beautiful blue diamond ring on QVC? The person who was describing this exhilarating ring was the only person speaking to her at the moment. She picked up the phone, dialed the number, and ordered the ring. How could she say no? This seller on the television was the only person who seemed to understand her love for jewelry, describing every aspect of the ring. She was depressed, alone, and now in debt even more. It was another fight that occurred between them. Teri lay there on her bed sobbing from all the words he had said. Her husband, the man she had vowed to spend her life, had hurt her again. They had been married only six months, and this is the thousandth fight that had occurred between them. This time he had said she was all about money. Over and over again she asked herself: “Is this true? Am I really all about money?” She asks for her fair share in his paycheck. She paid for their elaborate wedding, she paid the mortgage, the bills, and for the groceries. It was New Years Eve when this event took place.
