Motivation, Theories and Principles Motivation is a way in which we gear our selves or to reach a goal, or to reach success. Motivation is used in every case. There is an old saying you can take a horse to the water but you cannot force it to drink, it will drink only if it's thirsty - so with people. We will do what they want to do or otherwise motivated to do, whether it is to reach high grades or to gain knowledge, we must be motivated or driven to it, either by ourselves or through external stimulus. For a student to feel motivated, I believe that they must have an inner desire to learn. As I feel that if students are forced to learn information that they have no interest in, then they will not be motivated. Also a student must feel inspired by what they are learning, otherwise they will not reach academic success.
