Body Piercing in a Teenage World

Why do people have body piercing? Maybe religion, or for fashion I suppose, or maybe just cause they want to be different. There are many reasons why people pierce their bodies. My reasons were because I wanted to; and I liked the way the piercing looks. I received my first piercing during my last year of high school, which was my belly button. I was kind of hesitant at first because I wondered if it was going to hurt or not and if it would take a long time to heal. I brought along a friend to relieve some of my tension and receive some support. We arrived at the piercing parlor and that’s when the nervousness came. It cost me eighty-five dollars to get my belly button pierced, and I was pissed because I didn’t know it cost so much. Well, I guess it costs money to pierce your skin; and besides I really wanted it done. I waited patiently as the professional got his station together. While he was doing so, all I seen was a long, thick needle. Now, I was scared and I was ready to run out of the room. After coming all this way I was not about to leave, so I sucked it up and took it like a champ. And believe it or not it really didn’t hurt; all I felt was a little pinch. That was the easy part; the hard part was keeping it clean
