Ecstasy
Ecstasy (also commonly known as MDMA, X, E, XTC, or Adam) on
the street, is a semi-synthetic psychoactive drug with amphetamine-like
and hallucinogenic properties. It is classified as both a stimulant and a
hallucinogen. Ecstasy abuse in the United States, and the buying and
selling of it to the United States, are significantly on the rise posing
serious concerns. Ecstasy may not seem very dangerous, but it has been
linked to serious brain damage or in some cases, has even been blamed
for death.
Ecstasy has many effects on the user that takes it. Some ecstasy
users say that the drug lowers your inhibitions, breaks down barriers
between friends, enhances sensations, feelings of love, and affection.
It also puts the user in a relaxed, euphoric state. This all may sound
good, but actually there are many bad effects too. Ecstasy can cause
hallucinations, chills, involuntary teeth clenching, muscle cramping,
blurred vision, and an increase in body temperature, heart rate, and
blood pressure. Some
