Dracula: Today’s, Bram Stoker’s, and Vlad
Who is Dracula? Today, the expected answer to that question is that Dracula is the father of vampires, the head vampire, or one of the most powerful vampires. While that may be valid in some significance to Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula, it has strayed from the novel’s theme so much that Dracula today is no more than a Halloween costume. When comparing Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Dracula historically, and Dracula today, their differences surface and we can understand why Stoker’s Dracula has become the most popular classic ever written.
Dracula is known all over the world. The novel has been translated into many languages. However, he is no longer remembered-especially in the West-for the same reasons that made Stoker’s novel popular. It has been made into over 200 movies and shows.
