In 1953, Elvis Presley known as “The King of Rock and Roll,” began his musical career by recording two demo songs in Memphis, Tennessee, for Gladys Presley. As he entered the prime of a musical career, Elvis stole the hearts from many adoring female fans while performing on stage. Elvis’s performances became very controversial die to his hip gyrating dance moves. Elvis Aron Presley, on of the 20th centuries most famous singers began his musical career in 1954 and his acting career in 1956 which led to an exciting, yet depressing lifestyle that eventually drove the entertainment icon to and overdose of prescription drugs causing his death in 1977 and leaving thousands of devoted fans heartbroken.
In June of 1933, Vernon Presley married Gladys Smith. On January 8, 1935, two years into the marriage, Gladys gave birth to identical twin sons. While the first, Jesse Garron, arrived stillborn, the second, Elvis Aron, came into this world alive and healthy. Elvis grew up in a close knit family consisting of parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Growing up, Elvis enjoyed showcasing his musical talent by strumming on a guitar and being in front of an audience, consisting only of family members at that time.
