Julius Caesar
Throughout act one of the play, Julius Caesar, we see a lot of conspiracy between Cassius and Brutus about Julius Caesar. Cassius is a twisted, mean person who enjoys hurting other people’s feelings. Brutus on the other hand, is a well-respected, judicial magistrate of Rome who is persuaded by Cassius to join the conspiracy against Caesar.
At the beginning of act one we observe that Brutus is hiding something but will not tell Cassius what it is that is bothering him. Cassius tries to get it out of Brutus and finally he does. “I do fear the people/ Choose Caesar for their king”. Brutus fears that if Caesar takes the crown of Rome, he will turn into a tyrant and enslave the people.
