The profession that I chose to investigate is management. Although there are many areas of management, they all share some common tasks. However, for this assignment, the position Division Manager for the City of Houston will be my direct topic. Some of the tasks associated with this position are monitoring the customer contact aspect of the Convention Center. This includes planning, monitoring, directing, controlling and managing any event coordination. This position is also directly responsible for security, crowd control, and audio/visual vendors and outside contractor service functions. The division manager to the Convention Center must also maintain the facilities reputation for service and reduce liabilities and risks by hiring and supervising security contractors. The manager is also responsible for on-site supervision for convention events. This position also requires plan, organized and assign all day-to-day work assignments to staff.
