Capital punishment, which is the killing of a human by lynching, electrocution, or lethal injection, is strongly opposed by millions of citizens in America. Electrocution and lethal injection are the most popular forms of capital punishment in America. Capital punishment should not be abolished by the American justice system (Beadu).
Those opposed to capital punishment cite the following reasons. First opponents say too many states have the death penalty. Only thirty-six states in the U.S. make at least one crime punishable by death. Fourteen states do not have death penalty. Next, opponents say capital punishment is cruel and unusual punishment.
