How Did WW1 Help Change the Way Women are Portrayed Today?

    WW1 brought many meaningful changes to the home front. While the fighting of war went on Canada was changing fast and drastically. This war would help out women in Canada for years to come. The politics were changing, women’s social roles were increasing and becoming better and economics was booming. All of this would change Canada for a lifetime. While economic was changing so was the women’s roles during WW1. This drastically changed the way women are looked at and treated in the work place today. While all the men and few women were overseas either fighting in the war or just helping out hurt and wounded. It was necessary for the women no over seas to help out in not just the homes. (Frances 1998) states often took the jobs that were traditionally considered “men’s” work.
