Lung Cancer
Lung cancer is an uncontrollable growth of cancerous cells in one or both of the lungs. While normal lung tissue cells reproduce and develop into healthy lung tissue, these cancerous cells reproduce rapidly and never grow into normal lung tissue. Tumors begin to form and the lung begins to function improperly. More than 87% of lung cancer is related to smoking. Not all smokers develop lung cancer though. Those who have quit have a lesser chance of getting it than those who are currently smoking. Even for those people who do not smoke has a chance to get this cancer if you are continuous exposed to carcinogens and secondhand smoke.
Lung cancer is estimated to kill more then 154,900 Americans by the end of year 2002. While other cancer incidences are decreasing, lung cancer rates are gradually increasing. From the years 1960 to 1990, the deaths from lung cancer increased over 400%. Even with the advancing technology, there is no certain cure for the lung cancer patients. A new study showed that
