    Guitar Methods The definition of a guitar is a flat-bodied stringed instrument with a long fretted neck that usually has six strings that are plucked with a pick or with fingers. That is the written definition, but the real definition comes from sound made by this amazing instrument. Most every style of music has the guitar as one of the primary sounds in songs. Some music is even composed with just guitar and no lyrics. There is a major difference in the guitar methods used for the many types of music that we listen to. From Hard Rock to slow Country, guitars will always be the most widely known instrument. Specifically, Rock and Roll music uses guitar to its fullest range, by using all methods of the guitar. Rock is not music that everyone enjoys, but when it comes to guitar playing, it tops them all. Most guitars are built with six strings, but some may have seven or even twelve. The string names for a standard six string are as follows, starting with the top string and going down, low E, A, D, G, B, and high E. The top strings have a lower pitch sound then the lower strings, which perform higher sounds.
